"The Montreal Heart Institute recently added a new surgical unit pavilion to its existing building that included 7 new surgery rooms. For that purpose, we tested and evaluated various flooring products available on the market, according to specific criteria aimed at the prevention of infections in cardiac surgery environments.  The criteria were:

• Durability and high resistance (cuts, tears and shocks)

• Medical products with dye stain

• Resistance to cleaning products (chemicals)

• Non-slip, ease of maintenance (no waxing)

• Installation without joints

• Watertight non-porous finish, proof tested for needle impacts

• Large choice of light colours and resistance to discolouration due to sunlight and light

• Comfortable (bonus)

• Static sink (bonus)

Our final choice was the Acrylicon Flake System that met our criteria and the final result was to our satisfaction."
